Welcome to Believe Education!

Who are we?
We are a group of passionate educators, parents and therapists who are dedicated to helping students who find traditional learning a challenge.  We see ourselves as a resource in your community that offers support for these students and their families.

What we do

We will offer alternative academic, emotional and social support, all within a one day a week school programme. As a team here at BELIEVE, we aim to help students identify specific cognitive weaknesses via a Metacognitive approach called ‘Feuerstein Instrumental Enrichment’ (http://www.nzfie.org/pages/about) We encourage students to identify ‘optimistic alternatives’ and develop their mindset to Believe that they can achieve personal success in their own right.

We acknowledge that many students who find learning a challenge also experience low self-esteem and even emotional trauma. Our Social and Emotional programme assists students to work through these very real challenges. We help our students to identify their emotions/feelings, ride the wave of that emotion then guide them to respond appropriately to that emotion in a positive and healthy way that does not affect themselves or others. We do this via a creative, fun and hands-on approach. This is a part of our curriculum which we feel especially passionate about and an area which is often non-existent in many schools.

We offer professional development for teachers and regular information evenings for parents and other interested people involving a variety of guest speakers .
